I am married with a son and a daughter, and live in Bradford on Avon, near Bath in the west of England. This workshop seeks to make it easier to monetize open Web applications, as an effective alternative to proprietary native app ecosystems. Prior to joining Canon, I was employed by Openwave Systems where I worked on developing ideas for future products and coordinating their involvement in the World Wide Web consortium W3C. Whilst CSS is perhaps easier for authors, an XML based representation for state machines is likely to provide greater flexibility, and this is now being pursued within the Voice Browser working group.
